awestruck at the scene

not knowing what lies ahead.

I can see the pain burning in her eyes.

Left all alone to face the unknown.

This world has become nothing but a battlefield,

and she’s now being fired at without a shield.

Her palms are sweating,

Lost Love

Knees shaking,

heart aching,

eyes holding back tears

that have been bottled up for years.

wondering if everything will be alright,

not winning the fight tonight.

standing in shame,

life wont be, can’t be the same.

Lost Love.

Broken heart.

Stuck here.

No way out.

Yet hope is oh so near.

A second glance,

the last chance.

Head up, feet on the ground.

Lost love can still be found.

 

OurTime Is Now

Another day has gone by.

A different day, the same routine.

As the faces pass, i’m still holding so much back.

Looking behind me, a shadow of just another day

is so close by.

There has to be more than this to life.

Our time is now to stand up for what is right.

Our time is now to end this ongoing fight.

Our time is now to make the face of a stranger

and turn it into someone with a past, present and future.

Our time is now to step out of our comfort zone,

to face the unknown.

Our time is now to spread the love we’ve been given,

and keep it no longer hidden.

Our time is now to not let another child go hungry or unloved.

Our time is now to make today not just another day.

Our time is now to be teh hope of the future.

Our time is now to change this world of despair

into a world of love, joy and salvation.

Nothing.

As I looked into her eyes,

And I saw the tears streaming down her face,

I felt so useless and ashamed; that i could do nothing.

As she tried to explain the pain and the hurt

that she’s gone through,

I can do nothing but try to understand.

But I can do no such thing as to

comprehend what she’s telling me.

All I know is that she misses her sons

back home, a place she will never see again.

And still, I can do nothing but listen and comfort.

My heart breaks, and a silent tear streams

down my saddened face.

I am asked what has happened

when my eyes are no longer dry.

And I can only reply with the word “nothing”

because of what they’ve gone through,

and the stories they tell me.

“Nothing” seems to be the correct answer.

I just wish there was more I could do,

more I could say,

to make the heartache go away.

Made Me In You

In my darkest night, you’re the only one I see.
When i’m blinded and can’t feel you, your presence is in reach.
When my pain is so unbearable,
your gentle touch is what I seek.

You’ve done more for me than i can begin to explain.
You’ve taken my sorrow, my shame, pain and regret
And made me brand new, made me in you.

You’ve turned me on to the path less taken.
But this time, on this road, I know I’m not mistaken.
I want to know you, love you, need you and breathe you.
Oh God, hear my cry.
You’re what I’ve been waiting for.
And now that I’ve let you in, I refuse to shut this door.

This isn’t an easy way, but there’s no turning back now.
You’ve brought me too far into the light that I dont deserve to see.
So take me as I am, Lord.
My flaws, my imperfections, my scars and your beauty.
Because this God, this is me.

I’m Reminded.

As the soft rain hits the cold hard ground,
I’m reminded of your ability.
As I see children playing freely,
I’m reminded of your sacrifice.
As the clouds clear and the sun is revealed,
I’m reminded of your majesty.
As the snow falls upon the mountain tops,
I’m reminded of your wonder.
As the leaves start to declare a different season,
I’m reminded of your miracles.
As a slight smile creeps up her face,
I’m reminded of your beauty.
As I am forgiven,
I’m reminded of your grace.
As you remind me that I’m never forgotten,
I’m reminded of your love.
